Join us at the Robinson Film Center in downtown Shreveport on Saturday, March 2, 2024, for the premiere of "Closet2Pride: A Memoir of Shreveport," a powerful documentary shedding light on the lives of LGBTQ+ individuals in Shreveport, LA.

Save the Date for Saturday, March 2, 2024, with the reception kicking off at 6:00 PM, followed by the film premiere at 7:30 PM at the Robinson Film Center in Shreveport.
 

"Closet2Pride" delves into the historical background of the LGBTQ+ community's struggles and successes, featuring heartfelt interviews, archival footage, and personal stories. It explores the challenges of coming out and living authentically in a conservative environment, addressing discrimination, violence, and social stigma. The documentary also celebrates the community's unity in the fight for rights and serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing struggle for acceptance and equality.
 

Join us for a reception before the film, featuring Q&A with filmmakers Robert Darrow and David Hylan, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and a cash bar. Tickets for the reception ($10) can be purchased at the OUTnorthLa Film Festival website, and film tickets will be available on the Robinson Film Center website or box office starting February 21st.

Meet the talented filmmakers: Robert Darrow - Retiring Managing and Artistic Director of Shreveport Little Theatre, LGBTQ+ activist for 54 years, and co-filmmaker of "Shreveport Little Theatre: Maker of Dreams." David Hylan - Retired Executive Director of the Betty and Leonard Phillips Deaf Action Center, Cozumel enthusiast, and co-filmmaker of "Small Town Rage: Fighting Back in the Deep South."
